Challenges
Live broadcasting is the ultimate test of chroma key. Unlike film, there is no “post-production” to fix a bad key. The fabric had to be 100% wrinkle-free and provide a perfectly uniform signal for the live hardware keyers. Any “hotspots” from the overhead studio lights would have caused the AR graphics to flicker or “tear.”
Solution
We supplied our Premier Digital Green Loop Nylon, specifically batch-tested for spectral consistency. To solve the wrinkle issue, we delivered the fabric on heavy-duty industrial cores and provided a technical team to assist with a “Drum-Tension” installation. This ensured the surface was as flat as a hard wall but with the portability and matte finish of a textile.
