Challenges
Lighting a car is the hardest task in cinematography because the car is essentially a giant curved mirror. A standard green screen reflects a massive green “streak” across the car’s bodywork. Furthermore, the weight of the vehicle would have crushed or torn standard thin fabrics.
Solution
We supplied Extra-Wide Full Rolls (up to 3m width) of our most durable fabric to create a seamless floor-to-wall transition. We advised on a reinforced sub-floor, over which our fabric was tensioned. The ultra-matte “Lambertian” surface of our fabric scattered the light so effectively that the green reflection on the car’s paint was minimized to a manageable level for the colorists.
