We were commissioned to supply a massive volume of Chroma Key Green Professional Loop Nylon for a flagship superhero production. The shoot involved a “Dry-for-Wet” sequence where actors were suspended on wire rigs against a 500-metre continuous green backdrop to simulate deep-sea environments.

Challenges
High-budget VFX requires “pixel-perfect” keys. The primary challenge was the interaction between the wire-stunt rigs and the fabric. Constant movement of heavy equipment and performers can cause “pilling” or micro-tears in standard fabric, which creates microscopic shadows that “chatter” in an 8K render. Furthermore, the lighting required for a high-frame-rate shoot is incredibly intense, meaning any slight sheen on the fabric would cause lens flares.
Solution
We provided industrial-grade, high-density Loop Nylon delivered in Full Fabric Rolls of 50 metres each to minimise seams. The specific “matte-loop” weave of our fabric was chosen for its durability and light-scattering properties. We managed the logistics to ensure all rolls came from the exact same dye-lot, guaranteeing that the color values remained identical across the entire 500-metre soundstage.
