Challenges
The lab used “Inside-Out” tracking headsets, which are highly sensitive to infrared light and room reflections. The engineers also needed to record “Mixed Reality” video of themselves inside the simulation. The room was small, creating a “boxy” sound that made the recorded instructions sound amateur.
Solution
We performed a total room wrap using Blue Digifoam. The blue spectrum was chosen as it is less “energetic” than green, reducing the amount of light interference with the VR headsets’ sensors. The 5mm foam core eliminated the “room ring,” resulting in crystal-clear audio that matched the high-fidelity visuals of the simulation.
